Questions before you buy
How hard are the papers?
As hard as the real exam. Each paper follows ICAI’s pattern, marking scheme and difficulty, and together the papers cover every topic, with more weight on the topics that come up most.
How do I send my answer sheet?
Click a photo of each answer page in good light, keep them in order, and combine them into one PDF with Google Drive or any PDF app. Then upload it on the paper’s page.
When do I get my checked copy?
Within 24 hours of uploading, any time of day. You see the expected time as soon as you submit, and the checked copy appears on the paper’s page by itself.
What if my upload fails?
Nothing is used up until your answer sheet is in. If the connection drops, try again from the same page; a submission only counts once the upload finishes.
How long is my access?
180 days from the day you buy, so till 28 Apr 2027 if you buy today. The exact end date stays on My plans.
Can I get a refund?
Plans are non-refundable; payment problems are always fixed or refunded. If money was deducted but the plan didn’t unlock, or you were charged twice, write to us and we’ll sort it out.
Read the refund policyA CA Inter Advanced Accounting mock test for Jan 2027 should do what Paper 1 does: give you case scenarios that mix three to five accounting standards, then a compulsory Question 1 and long statements (amalgamation, consolidation, Schedule III) to finish in three hours. This one is a full 100-mark Paper 1 on ICAI's current pattern, set on the study material that applies to January 2027. You write it by hand in one sitting, scan your answer sheet and upload one PDF. Your checked copy comes back within 24 hours, with ICAI-style step-wise marks for every question and the reason for every mark cut.
How the whole test series works is on the CA Inter test series page. This page is only about Paper 1; Advanced Accounting, Law and Taxation together are on the CA Inter Group 1 test series page.
CA Inter Advanced Accounting paper pattern
From ICAI's Paper 1 of September 2026 (PDF) (opens in a new tab) and the papers before it:
| Paper 1: Advanced Accounting | |
|---|---|
| Marks and time | 100 marks, 3 hours, one booklet |
| Part I | 15 MCQs of 2 marks each (30 marks), four options, mostly in case scenarios |
| Part II | 70 marks: Question 1 compulsory, then any four of the other five, so 14 marks each |
| Negative marking | None |
| Printed on the paper | "Working notes should form part of the answer." |
Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027, each paper from 2 to 5 PM (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)); ICAI has not yet announced which paper falls on which date. All six papers side by side are in the CA Inter exam pattern guide.
CA Inter Advanced Accounting Jan 2027: what applies
ICAI's study material notice for January 2027 (PDF) (opens in a new tab) sets the July 2024 edition (Reprint August 2025 onwards) plus the RTP for January 2027. The July 2026 edition is for May 2027 onwards. In short:
- Accounting Standards under the Companies (Accounting Standards) Rules, 2021, AS 1 to AS 29 (AS 6 and AS 8 are withdrawn); Ind AS only as theory in Chapter 1.
- Schedule III, Division I for company financial statements, plus the dividend, buy-back, amalgamation and reconstruction rules the chapters use.
- Income-tax Act 1961 wherever AS 22 or AS 25 needs a tax figure: the 2025 Act starts from May 2027 (ICAI news).
ICAI has issued no separate amendment list for Paper 1 for this attempt. How to read applicability for any attempt is in what's applicable for your CA attempt, and the editions for every paper are in CA Inter study material for January 2027.
CA Inter Advanced Accounting: where the marks sit
ICAI does not publish a mark-wise split for Paper 1. In the last four papers (September 2025 to September 2026), this is how the 15 chapters were asked:
| Area | How it has come |
|---|---|
| Amalgamation | A 14-mark question in every paper |
| Consolidated statements (AS 21) | 10 to 14 marks in every paper |
| Schedule III statements or cash flow | 10 to 14 marks, often from a trial balance |
| Buy-back and internal reconstruction | A 7 to 14-mark question, or a full MCQ case |
| AS 3, 20, 15, 16, 22, 29 and the other AS | MCQ cases and Question 1's three short computations |
| Branch accounts | A 6-mark part in Question 6 |
| Theory (Framework, convergence with Ind AS) | One 4-mark part with an OR |
So most of the paper is computation; theory is a small slice. Chapter-wise practice and revision order are in the CA Inter revision planner for Jan 2027.
CA Inter Advanced Accounting: where students lose marks
ICAI's examiners' comments on recent Paper 1 copies keep pointing at the same slips:
- Borrowing costs: not splitting specific and general borrowings, or a wrong weighted rate.
- EPS: using profit before tax, or missing the bonus element in a rights issue.
- Buy-back: skipping the debt-equity test or the capital redemption reserve entry.
- Consolidation: pre-acquisition dividend, a bonus issue by the subsidiary, unrealised profit on stock.
- Schedule III: wrong classification, missing notes, contingent liabilities left out.
- Dividend out of reserves: the 10% and 15% limits under Rule 3.
A mock catches these only if every step is checked, not just the final figure. More on reading ICAI's comments is in common mistakes in CA exams.
CA Inter Advanced Accounting mock test: how to use it
Timing plan for 3 hours. Give the 15 MCQs about 45 minutes and leave none blank. An amalgamation or consolidation can take 30 to 35 minutes, so take that time back from Question 6's short parts, and give the other questions about 25 minutes each. Keep the last 10 minutes to check the OMR sheet and that every working note sits under its question.
When to write it. Once you have revised all 15 chapters, and well before 1 January: Group I comes first, with one day between papers. Write it from 2 PM, by hand, and go through the checked copy before the next mock. The full dated calendar is in the CA Inter mock test plan for Jan 2027. Solve ICAI's own RTP, MTPs and past papers too; they are on our CA Inter free resources page.
Frequently asked questions
Is there negative marking in CA Inter Advanced Accounting?
No. The paper's cover says there is no negative marking for a wrong answer, so attempt all 15 MCQs.
Which study material applies to CA Inter Paper 1 for Jan 2027?
The July 2024 edition (Reprint August 2025 onwards) with the RTP for January 2027, as per ICAI's notice. The July 2026 edition is for May 2027 onwards.
Is Ind AS asked in CA Inter Advanced Accounting?
Only as theory: Chapter 1 covers Ind AS, IFRS and carve-outs. Computations are on the Accounting Standards (AS 1 to AS 29).
Does one mock cover the whole Advanced Accounting syllabus?
A single paper can't test all 15 chapters in depth. Every chapter is covered across the Advanced Accounting mocks in the test series, with more weight on the topics ICAI asks most.
