CA Inter test series for Jan 2027: what you get
This is a CA Inter test series for the January 2027 attempt: 3 full-syllabus mock tests for each of the six CA Intermediate papers, written on ICAI's current pattern and checked line by line. You write each paper by hand in 3 hours, upload one PDF of your answer sheet, and get your checked copy back within 24 hours, with step-wise marks and a reason for every mark cut.
It is built for the last stretch before the exam, when chapter tests are behind you and what you need is practice at writing a complete CA Inter mock test, then finding out exactly where the marks went.
- Full-syllabus papers only. Every chapter is covered across the 3 mocks of a subject, with more weight on the topics ICAI asks most.
- Brand-new questions, not copies of RTPs, MTPs or past papers you may already have solved.
- The latest ICAI pattern. Every CA Inter paper is 100 marks in 3 hours: 30 marks of case-based MCQs with no negative marking, and 70 marks of descriptive questions (ICAI FAQs, Q 3.16 and 3.17, PDF (opens in a new tab)).
- Every amendment applicable for January 2027 is tested. Our guide on CA Inter amendments for Jan 2027 lists what applies, paper by paper.
CA Inter Jan 2027 exam dates and pattern
ICAI's schedule for CA Intermediate January 2027 (ICAI announcement, 23 September 2026, PDF (opens in a new tab)):
| Group | Papers | Exam dates |
|---|
| Group I | Paper 1 Advanced Accounting, Paper 2 Corporate and Other Laws, Paper 3 Taxation | 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 |
| Group II | Paper 4 Cost and Management Accounting, Paper 5 Auditing and Ethics, Paper 6 Financial Management and Strategic Management | 8, 10 and 12 January 2027 |
Every paper runs from 2 to 5 PM (IST), with 15 minutes of advance reading time from 1:45 PM. ICAI has announced only the group dates so far; the paper-wise dates are not out yet. The exam form is on the ICAI Self Service Portal from 3 November 2026, and 16 November 2026 is the last date without a late fee. Every date is in CA Foundation and Inter January 2027 exam dates.
How each paper is set, from ICAI's own September 2026 papers:
| Paper | Part I: MCQs (30 marks) | Part II: descriptive (70 marks) |
|---|
| 1, 2, 4 and 5 | 15 MCQs of 2 marks, mostly in case scenarios | Question 1 compulsory, then any 4 of the remaining 5, 14 marks each |
| 3 Taxation | 16 MCQs across Section A Income-tax and Section B GST | Each section: the compulsory question plus any 2 of the other 3 |
| 6 FM and SM | 16 MCQs across Section A FM and Section B SM | Each section: the compulsory question plus any 2 of the other 3 |
Papers 3 and 6 are two 50-mark halves in one paper, so a mock has to teach you to split your 3 hours between sections. The full breakdown, with links to every ICAI paper, is in CA Inter exam pattern Jan 2027.
CA Inter mock tests: how they work
Each mock is meant to feel like the real exam afternoon, and to come back with feedback you can act on before the next one.
- Download the paper from your account when you are ready to sit for it.
- Write it by hand, in the real time: 3 hours, one sitting, no breaks, closed book. Start at 1:45 PM with 15 minutes of reading, as ICAI allows.
- Scan your answer sheet and upload it as one PDF. There is one submission per paper, just like the exam, so upload when you have finished the whole paper.
- Get your checked copy within 24 hours. It shows:
- ICAI-style step-wise marks for every question, not just right or wrong on the final figure;
- a reason for every mark cut, with the correct line you should have written;
- question-wise analysis of your concept, presentation and working notes;
- every line of your answer sheet checked on 50+ parameters.
- Read the suggested answers. Each paper has detailed suggested answers with the provisions, working notes and the reasoning behind every MCQ answer.
- Fix, then write the next mock. The 24-hour turnaround is the point: you see what went wrong while the paper is still fresh, and change how you write before the next one.
Why handwriting matters: ICAI's CA Inter papers say "Working notes should form part of the answer" (Paper 1, September 2026, PDF (opens in a new tab)). A mock you type, or solve in your head, hides your speed and your presentation, which is where most descriptive marks go. If step marking is new to you, read how step marking works in CA exams.
CA Inter test series plans: which one is right for you
There are three plans. All are for the January 2027 attempt, all have the same checking and features, and all stay open well past the January 2027 papers. The only difference is which papers they contain.
| Plan | Papers covered | What you get |
|---|
| Group I | Advanced Accounting, Corporate and Other Laws, Taxation | Full-syllabus mocks for every paper |
| Group II | Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing and Ethics, FM and SM | Full-syllabus mocks for every paper |
| Both Groups | All six papers | Full-syllabus mocks for every paper |
Pick the plan that matches the groups you are writing in January. You register for both groups, but ICAI lets you appear in one group at a time (ICAI FAQs, Q 3.12, PDF (opens in a new tab)). If you are writing one group, take that group's plan; if you are writing both, the Both Groups plan covers all six papers in one purchase. The plans are on the cards above.
Each plan page shows preview pages of the first mock of every subject in it, so you can see the level and style of the questions before you decide.
CA Inter passing marks: how ICAI passes you
From ICAI's FAQs on the Intermediate examination (Q 3.18, PDF) (opens in a new tab):
- One group: at least 40% in each paper of the group and at least 50% in the aggregate of its three papers, at one sitting. That is 40 in each paper and 150 out of 300.
- Both groups together: either pass each group on its own terms, or get 40% in every paper of both groups and 50% in the aggregate of all six papers taken together.
- Exemption: if you appear in all the papers of a group and miss it, any paper where you scored 60% or more is exempted for the next three exams (Q 3.19 (opens in a new tab)).
So one weak paper can sink a group even when the other two are strong. Your mocks need to show that no paper is below 40, not just that your average looks fine.
CA Inter mock test schedule before January 2027
Group I starts on 2 January 2027. A simple way to use the weeks before it:
| Window | What to do |
|---|
| Now to mid-November | Finish your first full revision of every paper |
| Second half of November | Mock 1 of each paper: it shows which chapters and habits cost marks |
| First half of December | Mock 2: tests whether your fixes from Mock 1 worked |
| Last ten days of December | Mock 3, group by group, at 2 PM: a dress rehearsal |
| 30 December to 1 January | No new full papers; rewrite the answers your error log flags |
- Leave a day after each mock to fix it. Read the checked copy, log every mark cut, and go back to the study material for the concepts you got wrong.
- Writing both groups? Three mocks in each of six papers is tight. Alternate groups so no paper goes cold, and never drop Mock 3.
- Don't write full mocks between papers. There is only one day between papers inside a group; use it for quick revision of the next paper.
The full dated calendar is in our CA Inter Jan 2027 mock test plan, and a chapter-by-chapter schedule is in the CA Inter Jan 2027 revision planner.
CA Inter Jan 2027 study material and amendments
ICAI has listed the study material for January 2027 (ICAI notice, PDF (opens in a new tab)):
- Papers 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6: July 2024 edition (Reprint August 2025 onwards), plus the RTP for January 2027.
- Paper 3 Taxation: July 2025 edition, plus the RTP and the Statutory Update for January 2027.
- Paper 2 amendments are already out, covering company law changes from 1 May 2025 to 30 June 2026 (ICAI, PDF (opens in a new tab)).
- Income tax stays on the Income-tax Act, 1961 for January 2027. The Income-tax Act, 2025 is examined from May 2027 (ICAI announcement, PDF (opens in a new tab)), so don't switch to the new editions marked "May 2027 onwards".
The editions in one place are in our note on CA Inter study material for Jan 2027.
CA Inter test series vs ICAI's free MTPs and RTPs
ICAI's Mock Test Papers (MTPs) and Revision Test Papers (RTPs) are free, official and well worth doing, whether or not you take any test series. ICAI holds its January 2027 MTPs from 19 to 30 November 2026 (Series I) and from 3 to 14 December 2026 (Series II), every paper from 10 AM to 1 PM (ICAI announcement, PDF (opens in a new tab)). The paper-wise dates are in our CA Inter MTP Jan 2027 schedule.
| ICAI MTPs and RTPs | This test series |
|---|
| Cost | Free | Paid plan |
| Questions | Official ICAI papers, widely solved and discussed | Brand-new questions on the same pattern |
| Checking | You check yourself against ICAI's answers | Your handwritten copy is checked line by line |
| Step marks and reasons for mark cuts | You work them out yourself | Given for every question, with the correct line to write |
| When you write | On ICAI's scheduled dates | Whenever you choose, within the plan's validity |
Self-checking works if you are strict and compare every step, not just the final figure; how to check your ICAI MTP shows how. Note that we check only the papers in our own plans, not ICAI's MTPs. All of ICAI's CA Inter MTPs, RTPs, past papers and study material, linked straight to ICAI, are on our CA Inter free resources page. ICAI's own answers to the May 2026 papers, paper by paper, are in CA Inter suggested answers May 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best CA Inter test series for Jan 2027?
The one whose papers match ICAI's current pattern (30 marks of case-based MCQs and 70 marks descriptive), cover the whole syllabus with the January 2027 amendments, and come back checked step by step in time to fix them before the next mock. Our guide on how to choose a CA test series lists what to check.
How many CA Inter mock tests should I write?
Three full mocks per paper is a workable target: one after your first revision, one in early December, one in the last ten days of December. Add ICAI's MTPs (19 November to 14 December 2026), but never at the cost of checking each copy.
Can I see the questions before I buy?
Yes. Each plan page shows preview pages of the first mock of every subject in the plan. Open Group I or Group II to see them.
How many times can I submit a paper?
Once per paper, like the real exam. Write the whole paper, then upload one PDF of your answer sheet. To practise a weak question again, rewrite it on your own using the suggested answer and the reasons given for your mark cuts.
Is there negative marking in a CA Inter mock test?
No, just as in ICAI's paper: there is no negative marking for MCQs in the Intermediate examination (ICAI FAQs, Q 3.17, PDF (opens in a new tab)). Never leave an MCQ blank.
How long does my access last?
Access starts the day your payment goes through and lasts well past the January 2027 exams; each plan's card above shows the exact number of days.
