In the last three papers, every 14-mark question was split 5 + 5 + 4, and the six MCQ cases each sat on one Act: three on the Companies Act, one each on FEMA, LLP and the General Clauses Act. Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027, each paper from 2 to 5 PM (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)); ICAI has not yet announced which paper falls on which date. CA Inter Law amendments for Jan 2027
ICAI's study material notice (PDF) (opens in a new tab) sets the July 2024 edition (Reprint August 2025 onwards) plus the RTP for January 2027. On top of it, ICAI's Paper 2 amendments for January 2027 (PDF) (opens in a new tab) cover company law changes from 1 May 2025 to 30 June 2026. The ones most likely to be asked:

CA Inter Law: where the marks sit
ICAI does not publish a mark-wise split within each part. In the September 2026, May 2026 and January 2026 papers, the marks fell like this (Part II offers 84 marks across six questions, of which you answer 70):

CA Inter Law: where students lose marks
ICAI's examiners' comments on recent Paper 2 copies keep pointing at the same slips:
- Second limb skipped: answering whether dividend can be paid, but not the conditions for paying it out of accumulated profits.
- Wrong section: allotment (section 39) confused with listing of securities (section 40), or the wrong General Clauses Act section.
- FEMA: the Liberalised Remittance Scheme limit applied per family instead of per member.
- Fraud reporting: the ₹1 crore line between reporting to the Central Government and to the audit committee.
- Interpretation of Statutes: vague answers with no rule named and no example.

CA Inter Law mock test: how to use it
Timing plan for 3 hours. Give the six MCQ cases about 45 minutes and leave none blank. Each 14-mark question then gets about 25 minutes: provision, then your analysis of the facts, then a one-line conclusion, for every part. Keep the last 10 minutes to check the OMR sheet and that every question number is written clearly.
When to write it. Once you have revised all 15 chapters, including the amendments above, and well before 1 January: Group I comes first, with one day between papers. Write it from 2 PM, by hand, in one sitting, and go through the checked copy before the next mock. The dated calendar is in the CA Inter mock test plan for Jan 2027.
