CA Inter Jan 2027 revision planner: day-by-day to 12 Jan

· Updated · 12 min read

A CA Inter revision planner for January 2027 should tell you which chapters to revise on which date: the chapters ICAI asks most in every paper first, the rest after, and only the most-asked chapters again in the last weeks and on the gap days between papers. The planner below starts on Thursday 8 October 2026 and runs to Paper 6 on Tuesday 12 January 2027, with a dated table for Group I, one for Group II and a week-by-week plan for both groups.

CA Inter Jan 2027 time table: the fixed points of your planner

Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027; Group II on 8, 10 and 12 January 2027. Every paper runs from 2 to 5 PM (IST), with 15 minutes of reading time from 1:45 PM, as per ICAI's announcement of 23 September 2026 (PDF) (opens in a new tab).

DatePaper (expected)Gap day before the next paper
Sat 2 JanPaper 1: Advanced AccountingSun 3 Jan
Mon 4 JanPaper 2: Corporate and Other LawsTue 5 Jan
Wed 6 JanPaper 3: TaxationThu 7 Jan
Fri 8 JanPaper 4: Cost and Management AccountingSat 9 Jan
Sun 10 JanPaper 5: Auditing and EthicsMon 11 Jan
Tue 12 JanPaper 6: Financial Management and Strategic Management–

The paper-wise dates are not yet official: ICAI's announcement gives only group dates, and the January 2027 Guidance Notes are not out (7 October 2026). In September 2026 ICAI held the papers in number order (Guidance Notes, PDF (opens in a new tab)); this planner assumes the same. All dates in one place: CA exam dates 2026–27.

From 8 October you have 86 days before Paper 1 and 92 before Paper 4: enough for a full pass in priority order, a second pass of the most-asked chapters and two mocks per paper. If your first revision will be done by mid-November, follow the three-mock calendar in our CA Inter Jan 2027 mock test plan and keep this planner's chapter order.

How this CA Inter revision plan picks chapters

Each chapter is placed by how often and how heavily ICAI asked it in its recent papers (September 2025 to September 2026): High chapters first, Medium next, Low last. The marks behind these ratings, chapter by chapter for all six papers, are in our CA Inter chapter wise weightage for Jan 2027. Some of those patterns are fixed enough to plan around:

PaperWhat ICAI's recent papers show
Advanced AccountingAmalgamation and consolidation carry 14 marks in every paper; AS 3 appears every time
Corporate and Other LawsPart II's six printed questions (you answer five): company law 50 marks, LLP 10, FEMA 8, General Clauses Act 8, Interpretation of Statutes 8
TaxationSection A (income tax) 50, Section B (GST) 50; Q1 is a 15-mark total income and tax computation
Cost and Management AccountingCost sheet, standard costing, budgets and marginal costing asked in almost every paper
Auditing and EthicsNo chapter rated Low; one CARO clause in every attempt; audit of banks rated High
FM and SMFM 50 and SM 50; FM Q4 is always theory, SM Q5 is three caselets

How each paper is set is explained in our CA Inter exam pattern for January 2027.

If you run out of days, what you drop is a Low chapter worth the fewest marks, not whatever happened to come last.

How to use this CA Inter study planner

Revise in the morning, write in the afternoon, log errors at night. Mornings: the day's chapters, then one question per chapter without looking. From 2 PM, when every Inter paper starts: a full mock or timed RTP, MTP or past-paper questions. Evenings: check what you wrote and log every lost mark. Attending ICAI's LVRC for CA Inter January 2027? Its classes run 7 to 9:30 AM or 6 to 8:30 PM from 12 October, so plan each day's blocks around your class slot; how LVC and LVRC work is in ICAI LVC and LVRC explained.

Fit ICAI's papers in as they come. ICAI's Inter MTPs for January 2027 run Series I from 19 to 30 November and Series II from 3 to 14 December 2026, 10 AM to 1 PM (ICAI notice, PDF (opens in a new tab)): paper-wise dates are in our CA Inter MTP Jan 2027 schedule, and see how to use them in the last 6 weeks with RTPs and MTPs. Free ICAI material is on our CA Intermediate free resources page.

Don't forget the exam form: it opens on 3 November 2026, and the last date without a late fee is 16 November 2026 (ICAI announcement, PDF (opens in a new tab)).

If you fall behind, don't push every date back: drop a Low chapter of your strongest paper, use the buffer day, and keep the second pass of High chapters.

What to revise on the gap days between papers

On a gap day, revise only the next paper's High chapters, formats and error log; no new chapter, no mock.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a CA Inter study planner PDF or Excel?

This page is the planner. Print it, or copy your group's table into a notebook or spreadsheet.

What is the CA Inter Jan 2027 time table?

Group I on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 and Group II on 8, 10 and 12 January 2027, 2 to 5 PM. ICAI hasn't yet published which paper is on which date; in September 2026 it went in paper-number order.

Can I revise both groups of CA Inter in 3 months?

Yes, if you have studied every paper once: the week-by-week plan covers all six papers' High chapters by mid-December. If much is new, give the High chapters your time first.

When should I start CA Inter mock tests for January 2027?

Once a paper's High chapters are revised: in this planner, the first mock from 10 December (Group I) or 6 December (Group II), the second in late December. Finished your first revision by mid-November? Start earlier, as in our three-mock plan.
