Questions before you buy
How hard are the papers?
As hard as the real exam. Each paper follows ICAI’s pattern, marking scheme and difficulty, and together the papers cover every topic, with more weight on the topics that come up most.
How do I send my answer sheet?
Click a photo of each answer page in good light, keep them in order, and combine them into one PDF with Google Drive or any PDF app. Then upload it on the paper’s page.
When do I get my checked copy?
Within 24 hours of uploading, any time of day. You see the expected time as soon as you submit, and the checked copy appears on the paper’s page by itself.
What if my upload fails?
Nothing is used up until your answer sheet is in. If the connection drops, try again from the same page; a submission only counts once the upload finishes.
How long is my access?
180 days from the day you buy, so till 28 Apr 2027 if you buy today. The exact end date stays on My plans.
Can I get a refund?
Plans are non-refundable; payment problems are always fixed or refunded. If money was deducted but the plan didn’t unlock, or you were charged twice, write to us and we’ll sort it out.
Read the refund policyA CA Final Financial Reporting mock test should do what Paper 1 does: put long Ind AS cases in front of you and give you three hours to turn them into journal entries, working notes and a consolidated statement in the right format. This one is a full 100-mark FR paper on ICAI's current pattern. You write it by hand in one sitting, scan your answer sheet and upload one PDF. Your checked copy comes back within 24 hours, with ICAI-style step-wise marks for every question and the reason for every mark cut.
How the whole test series works is on the CA Final test series page. This page is only about Paper 1; FR, AFM and Audit together are on the CA Final Group 1 test series page.
CA Final FR paper pattern
From ICAI's Guidance Notes for the Final exam (PDF) (opens in a new tab) and the most recent Final Group I suggested answers (PDF) (opens in a new tab):
| Paper 1: Financial Reporting | |
|---|---|
| Marks and time | 100 marks, 3 hours |
| Part I | 30 marks of case scenario based MCQs, four options, all compulsory: 23 MCQs (16 of 1 mark, 7 of 2 marks) in ICAI's Mock Test Papers for Nov 2026, and in our mocks |
| Part II | 70 marks of descriptive questions: Question 1 compulsory, then any four of the other five, so 14 marks each |
| Negative marking | None, and no reasoning is needed for MCQ answers |
| Printed on the paper | "Working notes should form part of the answer." |
Before the 2 PM start you get 15 minutes of advance reading time (PDF) (opens in a new tab), enough to read the long Question 1. The pattern for all six papers is in our CA Final exam pattern guide.
FR section-wise weightage
ICAI's section-wise weightage (PDF) (opens in a new tab) applies "till further changes are made" and permits "a deviation of maximum ±5%":
| Section | Topics | Weightage |
|---|---|---|
| I | Schedule III (Division II), Conceptual Framework, Ind AS 1, 34, 7, 8, 10, 113 | 10%–15% |
| II | Ind AS 115 | 5%–10% |
| III | Ind AS 2, 16, 116, 23, 36, 38, 40, 105, 19, 37 | 15%–25% |
| IV | Ind AS 12, 21, 24, 33, 108, 20, 102, 41 | 15%–20% |
| V | Financial instruments: Ind AS 32, 109, 107 | 10%–15% |
| VI | Business combinations; consolidated and separate financial statements | 10%–20% |
| VII | Ind AS 101; analysis of financial statements | 5%–10% |
| VIII | Ethics with accounting concepts; technology and accounting | 5%–10% |
ICAI's skill-wise weightage (PDF) (opens in a new tab) puts 55%–80% of FR at analysis and application and only 5%–15% at plain knowledge. So a good FR mock is mostly cases, not "explain Ind AS X". The other papers' weightage is in CA Final syllabus and paper weightage.
Where students lose marks in FR
ICAI's examiners' comments (Final Group I suggested answers, May 2026, PDF (opens in a new tab)) show where the marks went:
- Format. In Question 1, many failed "to follow the formats prescribed under Division II of Schedule III to the Companies Act, 2013, omitting Notes to Accounts and preparing incomplete or inaccurate working notes".
- Book values in a business combination. "A significant number of examinees ignored fair value adjustments and incorrectly considered the book values of assets and liabilities".
- No journal entries. On a compound financial instrument: "Examinees omitted passing journal entries or have passed incorrectly."
- Figures without the reason. On fair value measurement, some "omitted the explanatory aspects of the question, and focused only on computations".
A mock catches these only if every step is checked, not just the final figure. More examples are in our CA Final FR mock test guide.
How to use an FR mock
Timing plan for 3 hours. Use the reading time to read Question 1 and choose your four optional questions. Give the MCQs about 45 minutes and leave none blank. A consolidation in Question 1 can take 30 to 35 minutes, so take that time back from your shortest theory parts and give the other questions about 25 minutes each. Keep the last 10 minutes to check the OMR sheet and that every part has a final figure. The full clock is in how to attempt a CA Final paper in 3 hours.
When to write it. Once you have revised all eight sections, and before the exams start: FR is the first Group I paper. Write it from 2 PM, by hand, in one sitting. Leave a day after each mock to go through the checked copy and redo the questions you lost marks on. Solve ICAI's own FR RTP and MTPs too; they are linked on our CA Final free resources page.
Keep an error log: one line per mark lost, tagged by section (I to VIII) and reason (concept, wrong figure, format, working note, missing explanation).
Frequently asked questions
Is there negative marking in CA Final FR?
No. ICAI's Guidance Notes say "There will be no negative marking for wrong answers." So attempt all 30 marks of MCQs, even the ones you are unsure of.
Which Ind AS amendments apply to my attempt?
ICAI's RTP for each attempt lists the applicable amendments, the cut-off date and any standards excluded. It is on our CA Final RTP page, and what's applicable for your CA attempt explains how to read it.
Is consolidation always Question 1 in CA Final FR?
No ICAI rule says so. Group accounting (Section VI) carries 10%–20% of the paper and has been the compulsory question in recent papers, so practise at least one full consolidation under time.
Does one FR mock cover the whole syllabus?
A single paper can't test every Ind AS. Every chapter is covered across the FR mocks in the test series, with more weight on the topics ICAI asks most.
