CA Foundation Jan 2027 revision planner: day-by-day to 9 Jan
A CA Foundation Jan 2027 revision planner should tell you which chapter to revise on which date: the chapters ICAI asks most in each paper first, then the rest, then three rounds of full mocks and only the most-asked chapters again on the gap days. The planner below runs from Saturday 10 October 2026 to Paper 4 on Saturday 9 January 2027. Every day has two slots: Accounting or Business Laws in the morning, Maths or Economics in the afternoon.
CA Foundation Jan 2027 time table: the fixed points
The four papers are on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January 2027. Papers 1 and 2 run from 2 to 5 PM with 15 minutes of reading time from 1:45 PM; Papers 3 and 4 from 2 to 4 PM with no reading time (ICAI announcement of 23 September 2026, PDF (opens in a new tab)).

From 10 October you have 85 days before Paper 1: about six weeks for a full first revision, two weeks per mock round, and a few quiet days before the exam. The mock dates match our CA Foundation Jan 2027 mock test plan.
How this CA Foundation study planner picks chapters
Each chapter is placed by how often and how heavily ICAI asked it in its January, May and September 2026 papers: the heaviest first, the lightest last.
| Paper | What ICAI's 2026 papers show |
|---|---|
| Accounting | Company accounts: a 15-mark Q6(a) and a 10-mark Q5(c) every time (27–29 printed marks with the True/False parts); two 10-mark partnership questions; final accounts of a sole proprietor every time (Q4(b), 10 marks); rectification every time |
| Business Laws | September 2026, printed marks: Contract 32, Sale of Goods 21, Companies 21, Partnership 20, NI Act 14, LLP 6, Indian Regulatory Framework 6 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | Business Mathematics 40, Logical Reasoning 20, Statistics 40. In September 2026: mathematics of finance 14 questions, central tendency and dispersion 11, probability 7 |
| Business Economics | The same count in all three papers: Price Determination 15, National Income 15, Nature and Scope 5, Business Cycles 5, the other six chapters 10 each |
Chapter by chapter, with marks, it's all in our CA Foundation chapter-wise weightage. How each paper is set is in CA Foundation exam pattern and marking.
If you run out of days, drop the chapter worth the fewest marks, not whatever happened to come last.

How to use this CA Foundation study plan
Revise in the morning, practise in the afternoon, log errors at night. Mornings: the day's chapter, then one question per topic without looking. Afternoons: the day's Maths or Economics chapter, then timed MCQs on it from ICAI's study material and past papers. Evenings: check what you wrote and log every lost mark in one line.
Use the right material. For January 2027, all four papers use ICAI's study material of August 2024 (Reprint August 2025 onwards), plus the January 2027 RTP for Papers 1 and 2 (ICAI notice, PDF (opens in a new tab)). ICAI's free papers are on our CA Foundation free resources page.
If you fall behind, don't push every date back: use 3–6 December as a buffer and drop the lightest chapter of your strongest paper. If a mock has to go, drop Mock 2 of your strongest paper, never Mock 3.
