CA Foundation test series fees Jan 2027: what you pay for

· Updated · 12 min read

Quick answer: CA Foundation test series fees for January 2027 are best compared by what they buy, not by the number on the box. Our full plan gives you 12 full papers (3 mocks in each of the four papers) for ₹549, and every one comes back checked. If you need only one paper, each subject is also sold on its own. This fee is separate from ICAI's exam fee, which you pay on ICAI's portal.

The exam is on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January 2027 (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)). That leaves about eleven weeks, enough for three full mocks per paper if you start in late November. Below: what the fee buys, full plan vs one paper, the two kinds of Foundation paper and which ones need a checked copy most, and a budget that uses ICAI's free papers first.

CA Foundation test series fees Jan 2027: the live numbers

Every figure in this table is filled from the plan itself, so it is always today's price. Every paper is a full paper set for the January 2027 attempt, and every one comes back checked.

OptionPapersFee
All four papers (full syllabus)12₹549
Paper 1: Accounting only3₹249
Paper 2: Business Laws only3₹249
Paper 3: Quantitative Aptitude only3₹249
Paper 4: Business Economics only3₹249

How to read it: if you want mocks in three or four papers, add up those single-paper fees and compare the total with the first row. If you want one paper, its row is what you pay; for two papers, add the two rows and compare with the first row too. Access lasts 180 days, well past the exam.

CA Foundation test series price vs ICAI exam fee: two different payments

Students often search "CA Foundation test series fees" and land on the exam fee, or the other way round. They are not the same thing.

What the CA Foundation test series fee buys

You pay for two things: new papers set like the real one, and your own answer sheet checked. For January 2027:

The papers

  • 3 full-syllabus mock tests in each paper, with brand-new questions set at the real ICAI exam standard.
  • Papers 1 and 2 descriptive, Papers 3 and 4 MCQs, as in the real exam.
  • Every chapter covered across the three mocks, with more weight on what ICAI asks most.
  • Every amendment applicable for January 2027 tested.

The checked copy

  • You write by hand at home, scan and upload one PDF. One submission per paper, like the exam hall.
  • Every line of your answer sheet checked on 50+ parameters, with ICAI-style step-wise marks.
  • The reason for every mark cut, with the correct line to write.
  • Question-wise analysis of concept, presentation and working notes.
  • Your checked copy within 24 hours, plus detailed suggested answers with working notes and MCQ reasoning.

Before paying, you can open preview pages of Mock Test 1 on each subject page. Papers are set by 15+ qualified CA faculty.

Which CA Foundation papers need a paid mock most

Spend first where a checked copy changes your marks most: the two descriptive papers. Foundation has two kinds of paper, and they gain differently from a test series.

PaperFormat (ICAI)What a checked copy addsPriority if budget is tight
1. Accounting3 hours + 15 min reading; descriptive, mostly numericalsFormat, working notes and the step you skipped, marked line by lineHigh
2. Business Laws3 hours + 15 min reading; descriptive, many case situationsWhether you stated the provision, applied it and concludedHigh
3. Quantitative Aptitude2 hours, no reading time; 100 MCQs, −¼ per wrong answerA fresh, timed paper and the slip behind each wrong optionMedium
4. Business Economics2 hours, no reading time; 100 MCQs, −¼ per wrong answerSame as Paper 3Medium

The paper formats are from ICAI's September 2026 papers (Paper 3, PDF (opens in a new tab) and Paper 4, PDF (opens in a new tab): 100 questions, 2 hours, ¼ of a mark off for each wrong answer) and the January 2027 schedule (PDF) (opens in a new tab); the full detail is in CA Foundation exam pattern and marking.

Why the descriptive papers first. In Accounting and Law, the marks you lose are rarely the answer itself. They are a missing working note, a wrong format, or a case answer that never names the section. You can't see those gaps when you mark your own copy against a suggested answer, because you read what you meant to write. A checked copy shows you what you actually wrote.

Why the MCQ papers still matter. Maths and Economics are 100 questions in 120 minutes, so 72 seconds a question, and a wrong answer costs a quarter mark. A full, timed paper is where you test your guessing rule. Paper-wise tips are in CA Foundation Maths mock test and CA Foundation Economics mock test.

CA Foundation test series price: full plan or one paper?

Buy a single paper if only one needs work; from two papers up, add the single-paper fees and compare the total with the full plan before you pay. Four common cases:

Your situationSensible buyWhy
First attempt, all four papers equally newFull CA Foundation test seriesYou need a full rehearsal of all four papers and the 3–5–7–9 January rhythm
Strong in Maths and Economics, worried about Accounts and LawAccounting + Business Laws, or the full plan if it costs no more than the two togetherThe two descriptive papers gain most from a checked copy
Accounts is the weak paper, the rest are fineAccounting onlyPay for the paper that decides your aggregate
Very tight budgetICAI's free papers first, then one paid paperSpend on the paper where you can't judge your own copy

A worked example: one student's budget

Riya (an example, not a real student) is writing all four papers in January 2027. Her MCQ scores on past papers are steady; her Accounts answers lose marks on formats she can't spot herself.

  1. Free layer: last two attempts' past papers in all four papers, checked against ICAI's suggested answers. For Maths and Economics, that self-check is reliable: an MCQ is right or wrong.
  2. Paid layer: Accounting and Business Laws, three mocks each, every copy fixed before the next mock.
  3. Before paying, she adds the two single-paper fees and compares the total with the full plan in the first table. If the full plan costs about the same, she takes it and writes the MCQ mocks too; if not, she buys the two papers. Either way, every paper she pays for is one she has dates for.

If after Mock 1 her MCQ timing slips, she can add a single MCQ paper later. Nothing is wasted.

Don't pay for papers you won't write

A test series is worth only the papers you actually write. A mock you skip costs as much as one you sit.

From mid-October, a realistic calendar is:

  • Now to 22 November: first full revision; chapter-wise MCQ practice for Papers 3 and 4.
  • 23 November to 6 December: Mock 1 in each paper you bought.
  • 7 to 19 December: Mock 2.
  • 20 to 29 December: Mock 3, in exam order.

The dated version, paper by paper, is in our CA Foundation Jan 2027 mock test plan. If you are buying all four papers, check you can keep those dates. If you can't, buy fewer papers and write all three mocks in each.

What not to pay for this close to the exam: new lecture bundles, printed notes (ICAI's study material is free and is the syllabus), and MCQ-only online quizzes for the descriptive papers. More red flags are in our affordable CA test series review checklist.

Frequently asked questions

What are the CA Foundation test series fees for January 2027?

Our live fee for all four papers, and for each paper on its own, is in the first table, with the number of papers in each option. The figures update from the plan, so they are always current.

Is the CA Foundation exam fee included in the test series fee?

No. ICAI's exam fee (₹1,500 for Indian centres for January 2027) is paid to ICAI on its portal when you fill the exam form. A test series fee is separate and optional.

Can I buy a CA Foundation test series for one subject?

Yes. Each of the four papers is sold on its own, with 3 full mocks and a checked copy. Open the subject page from the table to see its fee and preview pages.

Which is the best test series for CA Foundation?

The one whose papers match ICAI's pattern, whose copies come back checked line by line, and whose mocks you have dates to write before 3 January. Our checklist in how to choose a CA test series works for any provider.

Is a test series worth it for CA Foundation Maths and Economics?

They are MCQ papers, so you can self-check past papers reliably. A paid mock adds new, timed questions and the reason behind each wrong option. If money is tight, spend on Accounting and Law first, and compare those two single-paper fees with the full plan before you pay.

Next step: pick your papers, then your dates

Write ICAI's free papers first, decide which papers need a checked copy, then buy only those.

Every level's CA mock tests are on our CA test series home page.
