CA Final Nov 2026 revision strategy: last 14 days + gap days

· 11 min read

The best CA Final revision strategy for the last 14 days is to stop reading and start writing: one full mock per paper, a day to fix it, a second pass of only the A-chapters, and nothing new. Then the gap days between papers go to the next paper's formats and your error log, never to a full mock. The tables below give you the last 14 days for Group I (from Monday 19 October), for Group II (from Monday 26 October) and for both groups, plus an hour-by-hour routine for every gap day in the November 2026 timetable.

Quick answer: Days 14 to 9, one mock and one fix day per paper · Day 8, buffer · Days 7 to 3, last mock for your weakest paper, then timed 90-minute sections · Days 2 and 1, formats and error log only · Gap days, revise the next paper, write 90 minutes of questions, sleep.

The chapter order (A, B, C) comes from our CA Final revision planner for Nov 2026; the mock calendar from early October is in the CA Final last 30 days mock test plan.

CA Final Nov 2026 dates: count your last 14 days

Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 November; Group II on 9, 11 and 13 November 2026. From ICAI's exam announcement (PDF) (opens in a new tab) and the paper-wise table in ICAI's Guidance Notes for Final, November 2026 (PDF) (opens in a new tab):

DatePaperTime (IST)
Mon 2 NovPaper 1: Financial Reporting2 to 5 PM
Wed 4 NovPaper 2: Advanced Financial Management2 to 5 PM
Fri 6 NovPaper 3: Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics2 to 5 PM
Mon 9 NovPaper 4: Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation2 to 5 PM
Wed 11 NovPaper 5: Indirect Tax Laws2 to 5 PM
Fri 13 NovPaper 6: Integrated Business Solutions2 to 6 PM

ICAI gives 15 minutes of reading time from 1:45 PM. So your last 14 days start on Monday 19 October for Group I and Monday 26 October for Group II. Starting a day or two late? Find today's date in your table and begin from that row; drop the Day 8 buffer first.

The CA Final revision strategy in four rules

These four rules decide every row in the schedules below.

  1. Nothing new. A chapter you haven't studied by Day 14 gets its RTP questions at most. The marks are in finishing what you know.
  2. Write more than you read. Every day has a 2 PM writing slot, the same hour as the exam, so your sharpest hours move there.
  3. A-chapters twice, B once, C only from the RTP. The tiers per paper are in our ABC analysis posts for FR, AFM, Audit, DT and IDT.
  4. Your error log is the syllabus for the last three days. Every lost mark goes into it with the reason: concept, misread, calculation, presentation or time.

CA Final Group 1 revision schedule: last 14 days

One mock and one fix day per paper first, a buffer day, then a second pass in reverse exam order so FR is freshest on 2 November.

Every evening: check the afternoon's writing and log each lost mark.

CA Final Group 2 revision schedule: last 14 days

Same shape, with IBS treated as its own skill: an open-book case paper needs a tabbed kit and timed cases, not chapters. How to build that kit is in how to prepare for CA Final IBS.

Both groups: the last 14 days before Paper 1

Writing both groups, Group II needs its mocks before 2 November, because after that you only get one or two days at a time. So Group II goes first and Group I last, closest to its exam.

DatesRevise and write
Mon 19 – Tue 20 OctDT: full mock on the 19th, fix and rewrite on the 20th
Wed 21 – Thu 22 OctIDT: full mock, then fix
Fri 23 OctIBS: full mock with your printed material
Sat 24 OctFix IBS; buffer for anything that slipped
Sun 25 – Mon 26 OctAudit: full mock, then fix
Tue 27 – Wed 28 OctAFM: full mock, then fix
Thu 29 – Fri 30 OctFR: full mock, then fix
Sat 31 Oct – Sun 1 NovFR second pass, formats, the Group I error log

The trade-off: Group II's second pass happens only on 7–8, 10 and 12 November.

How to use the gap days between CA Final papers

On a gap day, revise only the next paper: its A-chapters, formats and your error log, with 90 minutes of timed questions at 2 PM. No full mock, no new chapter. From the timetable above:

Paper just writtenGap daysNext paper
FR, Mon 2 NovTue 3 NovAFM, Wed 4 Nov
AFM, Wed 4 NovThu 5 NovAudit, Fri 6 Nov
Audit, Fri 6 NovSat 7 and Sun 8 NovDT, Mon 9 Nov
DT, Mon 9 NovTue 10 NovIDT, Wed 11 Nov
IDT, Wed 11 NovThu 12 NovIBS, Fri 13 Nov

Which chapters to revise on each of these days, paper by paper, is in the gap-day table of our revision planner. Here is how to spend the hours.

A one-day gap, hour by hour

WhenTimeWhat you do
Exam evening5 to 7 PMTravel, eat, rest. Don't check answers or discuss the paper
Exam evening7 to 10 PMNext paper's error log, then its formats or formula sheet
Gap day7 to 11 AMNext paper's A-chapters, from your own notes
Gap day11 AM to 1 PMThe weak spots your error log keeps showing
Gap day2 to 3:30 PMTimed questions from your mocks or the RTP, by hand
Gap day4 to 7 PMCheck them; B-chapter key points and amendments
Gap day8 to 10 PMLast read of formats and your mistake list; pack your kit

Sleep at your usual time both nights: tiredness costs more marks than one unrevised chapter.

The two-day gap before DT (7 and 8 November)

The only two-day gap. Use Saturday as a normal revision day, A-chapters in the morning and a 90-minute timed computation at 2 PM, then run Sunday as the one-day routine. Skip a full DT mock: you've just written three papers in five days.

The day before IBS (12 November)

ICAI lets you bring your own material in hard copy for Paper 6, such as study material, RTPs, bare Acts and your notes; no phones or other electronic devices; no exchanging material; and answers must be in your own handwriting, not pasted (Guidance Notes, PDF (opens in a new tab)). So 12 November goes to tabbing, your index and one timed case.

What not to do in the last 14 days

  • Don't write a full mock on a gap day. Ninety timed minutes keeps your speed without draining you for the real paper.
  • Don't chase answer keys after a paper. It's done; the next one isn't.
  • Don't leave your kit to the last night. Your admit card is out on eservices.icai.org (it went up on 17 October), so download and print it now; what to check on it is in our CA Final Nov 2026 admit card guide. Carry a calculator ICAI allows: battery-operated, up to 6 functions, 12 digits and two memories; scientific calculators are not allowed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I clear CA Final Group 1 in 15 days?

Only if you have studied the whole group once. Fifteen days is enough to revise and write one mock per paper with a fix day, as in the Group I table; it isn't enough to learn chapters for the first time. If big parts are new, read can I clear CA Final in 1 month and put your days on the A-chapters.

How many hours should I study in the last 15 days of CA Final?

ICAI sets no rule. Nine to eleven hours is workable: about four in the morning, three or four in the 2 PM writing slot, and an hour on the error log.

Should I write a mock test in the last week before CA Final?

Yes, one last full mock for your weakest paper, around Day 7, with a day to fix it. After that, switch to 90-minute timed sections so you arrive fresh.

What should I revise on the gap day before a CA Final paper?

Only the next paper: its A-chapters, formats and your error log, plus 90 minutes of timed questions. No new chapter and no full mock.

Is there a CA Final revision plan PDF?

You don't need one: screenshot your group's table above. ICAI's own RTPs, MTPs and past papers are linked on our CA Final free resources page, with the RTPs and past year papers as their own sections.

Write your last mocks, get them checked by the next day

This strategy needs a fresh mock and a copy back before your fix day. Our CA mock tests for Final are full-syllabus papers on ICAI's latest pattern, with every amendment applicable for November 2026 tested. You write by hand, upload one PDF, and your checked copy comes back within 24 hours with ICAI-style step-wise marks, the reason for every mark cut and the correct line to write, which goes straight into your error log.

Pick by paper: FR, AFM, Audit, DT, IDT or IBS; by group: Group I or Group II; or see the full CA Final test series. Every level is on our CA test series home page.
