Cheapest test series for CA Inter Jan 2027: pick by group

· Updated · 10 min read

Quick answer: the cheapest test series for CA Inter in January 2027 is the one that covers only the papers you are actually writing, with every copy checked. Writing both groups? Compare the both-groups option with two single groups. Writing one group? Buy that group. Re-attempting with an exemption in one or two papers? Buy only the remaining papers, one subject at a time. The live prices for every option are in the table below.

Group I is on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 and Group II on 8, 10 and 12 January (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)). That leaves the weeks before 2 January to write your mocks, so the question isn't only price. It is which papers you have time to write well. Below: the live numbers, the right buy for five common situations, and a budget that uses ICAI's free papers first.

Cheapest test series for CA Inter: the live numbers

Every figure here is filled from the plan itself, so it is always today's price. Every paper is a full 100-mark paper for the January 2027 attempt, and every one comes back checked.

OptionPapersPrice
Both groups (all six papers)18₹599
Group I (Advanced Accounting, Corporate and Other Laws, Taxation)9₹429
Group II (Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing and Ethics, FM and SM)9₹429
Any one paper, for example Taxation3₹219

Two comparisons decide it. If you write both groups, set the first row against the Group I and Group II rows added together. If you need two papers of one group, set two single-paper prices against the group row. The cheaper total wins.

Affordable test series for CA Inter: buy by your situation

Match the option to the papers you'll sit in January. Five common cases:

You are…Cheapest sensible buyWhy
Writing both groups for the first timeBoth groupsAll six papers, and only one day (7 January) separates the groups, so every mock must be written before 2 January
Writing Group I onlyGroup IGroup II's papers are set for January 2027; you'd pay for papers you won't sit
Writing Group II onlyGroup IISame logic
Re-attempting a group with an exemption in one paperThe two remaining papers one by one, or the group if it costs no more than the twoAn exempt paper needs no mock this attempt
Comfortable in five papers, weak in oneThat one paper, e.g. Advanced AccountingA paid mock earns most where you can't judge your own copy

The exemption case, worked out

ICAI gives an exemption in a paper if you wrote every paper of the group, failed the group, and scored 60 or more in that paper. It lasts for the next three examinations (ICAI New Scheme FAQs, Q 3.18 and 3.19, PDF (opens in a new tab)). So a student re-attempting Group I with an exemption in Taxation sits only Papers 1 and 2.

Arjun (an example, not a real student) is in exactly that spot:

  1. He needs mocks in only two papers: Advanced Accounting and Corporate and Other Laws.
  2. He adds those two single-paper prices.
  3. He checks the total against the Group I row. Whichever is lower is his cheapest test series. If the group costs no more than the two papers, he takes the group and simply skips the Taxation mocks.

An exemption changes what you need to pass the group: at least 40 in each remaining paper and 50% in the aggregate of all the group's papers, including the exempted one (same ICAI FAQ, Q 3.19). The full rules, with tables, are in CA Inter passing marks and exemption rules.

Test series for CA Inter Jan 27: what costs nothing

The cheapest layer of every plan is ICAI's own papers. Use them before and alongside any CA test series.

What free papers can't do: check your descriptive answers. ICAI's answers tell you what the right answer was; they don't tell you which of your lines earned marks. For the 30 MCQ marks, self-checking works. For the 70 descriptive marks, it is easy to give yourself a step you never wrote. That gap is the only thing worth paying for.

The cheapest plan is the one you finish

A mock you don't write costs as much as one you do. Before you buy, put your mocks on dates:

RoundWindowWhat it does
Mock 1Late NovemberShows what costs you marks after your first revision
Mock 2First half of DecemberTests whether you fixed it
Mock 3Second half of December, in exam orderThe dress rehearsal

The day-by-day version for all six papers is in our CA Inter Jan 2027 mock test plan. If six papers × three mocks won't fit your weeks, buy one group or fewer papers and write all three mocks in each. Three checked mocks in four papers beat one rushed mock in six.

Three ways students overpay

  1. Buying both groups while writing one. Check your form before you check out.
  2. Buying a paper you're exempt in. Read your last marksheet first.
  3. Buying chapter tests this late. This close to January, full papers build the 3-hour speed you need. When each kind helps is in chapter wise vs full syllabus; the logic is the same for Inter.

Which test series is best for CA Inter?

The best one is the cheapest that passes three checks: its papers match ICAI's current pattern (30% MCQs and 70% descriptive in all six papers, per ICAI's New Scheme FAQs, Q 3.16, PDF (opens in a new tab); more in CA Inter exam pattern), every descriptive copy comes back checked line by line, and you have dates to write every paper you pay for. Our how to choose a CA test series checklist works for any provider.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the cheapest test series for CA Inter Jan 2027?

The cheapest for you is the option that covers only the papers you'll write. Compare the both-groups, one-group and single-paper prices in the table above, and add up single papers when you need only two.

What is the CA Inter test series price for one group?

The Group I and Group II rows in the table show the live price and the number of papers. Each group has three papers with three full mocks each.

Can I buy a CA Inter test series for one subject only?

Yes. Each of the six papers is sold on its own, with 3 full mocks and a checked copy. It suits an exemption re-attempt or one weak paper. Every subject is listed in our subject wise test series guide.

Is buying both groups cheaper than buying Group I and Group II separately?

Compare the both-groups row with the two group rows added together. Buy both groups only if you are writing both in January 2027.

Is a free CA Inter test series enough?

ICAI's MTPs, RTPs and past papers are free and essential. If you can check your descriptive answers strictly against ICAI's suggested answers, they can be enough. Whether a paid layer is worth it for you is answered in is a CA test series worth it.

Next step: check your form, then your cart

Decide which papers you're sitting in January, then buy only those.
