Subject wise test series for CA Final, Inter and Foundation

· Updated · 11 min read

Quick answer: a subject wise test series gives you full mock tests in one paper only, instead of a whole group. It is the cheapest sensible choice when you are exempt in some papers, when one paper is far weaker than the rest, or when you only need a top-up after a group plan. If you are writing every paper of a group for the first time, a group plan usually makes more sense. Every subject at every level, with its live price, is in the table below.

The next exams are close: CA Final Group I starts on 2 November 2026 (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)), and CA Inter and Foundation start on 2 and 3 January 2027 (ICAI schedule, PDF (opens in a new tab)). With little time, paying for papers you won't write is the most common waste. Below: what "subject wise" means, who should buy one paper, how it compares with a group, and how to fit it into the weeks you have.

Subject wise test series: what it means

Subject wise means you buy one paper's mocks on their own. Students often mix it up with two other kinds of CA test series:

KindWhat you getBest for
Subject wiseFull-syllabus mocks in one paperOne weak paper, exemption re-attempts, a top-up
Chapter wiseShort tests on a few chapters at a timeWhile you are still studying a subject
Group or full planFull-syllabus mocks in every paper of a group or levelFirst attempt at a whole group

So "subject wise" is about which papers you buy; "chapter wise vs full syllabus" is about how much of the syllabus each test covers. A subject wise test series can be either. Ours are full-syllabus: 3 mocks in that paper, each a full paper on the latest ICAI pattern. When chapter tests still help, and how to build them free from ICAI's past papers, is in CA Final test series chapter wise vs full syllabus.

Subject wise vs group: which costs less?

Add up the single papers you need and compare the total with the group price. That one sum decides it.

NeedCompareUsually the better buy
One paperOne subject priceSubject wise
Two papers of the same groupTwo subject prices vs the group priceWhichever total is lower
All three papers of a groupThree subject prices vs the group price, e.g. CA Inter Group I at ₹429 for all threeThe group, unless its price is above the sum
Both groupsSix papers vs the both-groups optionThe both-groups option, if you're writing both

The group and both-groups prices for each level are on the level pages: CA Final, CA Inter and CA Foundation. A side-by-side table of every group option, with its price and paper count, is in our most affordable CA test series guide.

Every subject page also shows the group options for that paper with their per-subject price, so you can switch before you pay.

Who should buy a subject wise test series

Four students gain most from buying one paper at a time.

1. You're exempt in one or two papers

ICAI exempts a paper if you wrote every paper of the group, failed the group, and scored 60 or more in that paper. The exemption lasts for the next three examinations. To pass the group, you then need at least 40 in each remaining paper and 50% in the aggregate of all the group's papers, including the exempted one (ICAI New Scheme FAQs, Q 3.19 for Inter and Q 4.11 for Final, PDF (opens in a new tab)).

So you sit only the remaining papers, and those are the only ones worth a mock. The full rules are in CA Final exemption rules and CA Inter passing marks and exemption.

2. One paper is far weaker than the rest

If five papers are steady and one keeps pulling your aggregate down, that one paper is where a checked copy earns its price. Typical examples: FR or DT at CA Final, Advanced Accounting or Taxation at CA Inter, Accounting at CA Foundation.

3. You need a top-up, not a whole plan

Maybe you've written ICAI's MTPs and past papers in every subject and only one subject's answers still feel unsure. One subject's three mocks give you new questions and a checked copy without paying for papers you've already practised.

4. You're writing one group, and only parts of it worry you

Writing CA Final Group II only, and comfortable with IDT? You need DT and IBS. Add those two subject prices and compare the total with the Group II price before you check out; if the group costs no more, take it.

CA Final subject wise test series: fitting it in before 2 November

With about three weeks to Group I, one subject's three mocks fit if you start now. CA Final papers run on 2, 4 and 6 November (Group I) and 9, 11 and 13 November (Group II), per ICAI's schedule (PDF) (opens in a new tab).

Write each mock at 2 PM, the real exam time, and fix every mark cut before the next one. A wider 30-day plan for all six papers is in CA Final test series schedule Nov 2026.

CA Inter and Foundation subject wise test series: Jan 2027

For January 2027, you have about eleven weeks, enough for three mocks in every paper you buy. A typical rhythm: Mock 1 in late November, Mock 2 in the first half of December, Mock 3 in the second half of December in exam order.
